World Environment Day calls for urgent action to protect Earth
By Zoila Palma: Today is being observed as World Environment Day.
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on the 5th of June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
“This year, we unite under the theme “Climate Action”. It is a call for urgent and meaningful steps to protect our planet for present and future generations.
Together, let us do more to take care of our planet and natural resources,” Special Envoy Rosanna Briceno said.
The U.N. says that World Environment Day 2026 reminds us that we still have time to change course.
“The Earth is sending us signals. The question is: what signal are we going to send in return?,” the U.N. said.
