Action blockbuster film “7DOGS” achieves new Egyptian box office record

The Egyptian action film “7DOGS” achieved a new box office record in its first week of release, earning the highest-grossing opening weekend in Egyptian cinema history with revenues of LE 131,401,000 from 912,300 tickets sold. On its opening day, 7DOGS earned LE 5,801,000 in Egypt from 38,400 tickets sold. The film is one of the largest Arab cinematic productions, with a budget of approximately US$ 40 million. It stars Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel-Aziz and is directed by the internationally acclaimed duo Bilal al-Arabi and Adel Fallah. The film “El-Kalam Ala Eh?” (What’s the Talk About?) ranked second at the box office on Tuesday, earning LE 1,662,000 from 10,600 tickets sold. Its total revenue in its 21-night run has jumped to LE 57,435,000, with 379,000 tickets sold. “El-Kalam Ala Eh?” stars Gihan el-Shamashirgy, Aya Samaha, Donia Sami, Hatem Salah, Entisar, Sayed Ragab, Khaled Kamal, and Donia Maher. The film “Ezma” came in third place, earning LE 1,262,000 from 7,900 tickets sold, bringing its total revenue after eight days to LE 12,338,000 from 77,000 tickets sold. It starred Ahmed Dawood, Salma Abu-Deif, Jessica Hossam Eddin, and Basant Shawky, and is written and directed by Mohamed Sadek.
